WELCOME TO JENISON

Located just west of Grandville, Michigan in Ottawa County the Jenison neighborhood is a welcoming community. With plenty of space, this neighborhood has five parks for residents to enjoy the four seasons of Michigan. The largest of the parks is Hager Park located along the northwest border of Jenison. This park has areas that can be reserved for events and an Age of Discovery wooden playground that kids will love! Maplewood Park next to Maplewood Lake is another great area to enjoy the beauty of nature. The highlights of this park include the nearby lake for swimming and fishing, a splash pad for those hot summer months, and a plethora of athletic fields for sporting events. Rosewood Park, Pioneer Park, and Woodcrest Park are all smaller parks in the Jenison area that offer items like playground equipment and athletic fields.

For hiking trails and fishing, stop by Grand Ravines for some more outdoor enjoyment. There is a portion of the park that welcomes dogs so they can enjoy the beautiful Michigan weather with their owners. South Grand Ravine has a 21-acre fenced in dog area are able to run freely and play with other dogs.

JENISON SCHOOLS

The Jenison Public School district comes highly recommended by the parents of students, students, and academic ratings. With a number of schools in the public school system, there is sure to be a school that fits children’s needs. Bauerwood School, Pinewood School, Rosewood School, Sandy Hill School, and Early Childhood Center have all received 9 out of 10 stars for an academic rating. In addition to highly rated academics, there are many highly rated reviews from parents that have students attending these schools.

Also part of the Jenison Public School system is Jenison International Academy which focuses on creating an online program that will help students prepare for college or future careers. Another part of the Jenison Public Schools is Jenison Center for the Arts. This school focuses on the desire for students to learn more about the performing arts. With a large auditorium, students are able to showcase their skills learned in the classroom by putting on shows for everyone to see.

One of the private schools in the area is Jenison Christian School where students can attend a school that has been around for 80 years. This school is rated 9 out of 10 stars for their academic accomplishments and parents love to send their kids to this school, giving is a 5 star rating.

THE BEST OF JENISON

Located at Dale E Wagner Park, the Georgetown Little League is a great place to watch the kids in your life grow up. Children ages 5-18 are welcome to run the bases and test out their hitting skills with baseball and softball. Around for over 50 years, this is a nonprofit organization founded to enrich the lives of kids in the Jenison area.

Jenison is a neighborhood that has a great school system and numerous outdoor areas for various activities. Another benefit to the Jenison area is Ida’s Pastry Shoppe. Ida’s a great place to grab a cup of coffee while you snack on a delicious donut, cupcake, or a cookie. Not only do they carry all of these yummy treats, you can have a cake made from scratch for any special occasion.
