GET TO KNOW THE TOWN

Known as the Salad Bowl of Michigan, Hudsonville is located on the west side of the state of Michigan and close to the shore of Lake Michigan. This town is filled with farms which is where the Salad Bowl nickname stems from, friendly faces, and strong family values. Filled with churches and religious organizations, this town provides great opportunities to worship and give back to the community you live in.

Despite the small size of this town, it is packed with so many great events to attend and places to visit, you might not have to venture into the neighboring towns unless you want to visit friends and family. The community is proud to feature their very own nature center. This 74-acre area has been left undeveloped and features trails for walking through wetlands, prairies, and forest settings. For more enjoyment in the outdoors, during the month of June Concerts on the Green are held every Thursday night for people to attend. Held at Veterans Memorial Park, these concerts are free and all you have to do is bring a blanket or some lawn chairs with you and enjoy. Nearby you can find a disc golf course that was added to the community in 2001 and features 18-holes at Hughes Park.

During the summer time, this town comes alive with all kinds of fun events to attend that are perfect for people and kids of all ages. From June until October, every Wednesday you can stop by the farmer’s market to purchase goods from local farmers and crafters. Whether you are looking for fresh produce or handmade items from within your own community you are sure to have fun meandering around the market. Each year in late August, the Hudsonville County Fair takes place and brings people from all over to enjoy fried food and carnival games.
