THE BYRON CENTER COMMUNITY

Take a walk through Whistlestop Park, whether you live in Byron Center or you are just passing through for a visit. This 59-acre park offers some amazing amenities to those who enjoy being outdoors. Perfect for recreational use like nature walking, running around the playground, or fishing at their 2.5-acre pond. With so much space and so many fun things to do in the park, holding an event in the 100 person picnic area is sure to be accommodating to everyone.

On the west side of Whistlestop Park, Woodward Baptist Church is a welcoming community that embraces new additions to their church community. Just down the road from Woodward Baptist Church, The Rush Creek Bible Church is another welcoming church community that believes in a genuine community atmosphere.

The International Promise Foundation was established to help create a Samaritan Children’s Home for children in need. They have made over 25 trips to provide supplies for schools, medical needs, and general well-being necessities for children that are in need. Over the years the Samaritan Children’s Home has developed into an amazing place with a school, an outpatient clinic, and housing facilities.

One of the newest additions to the Byron Center area is the construction of the Tanger Outlet filled with great stores that have discounted prices. This outlet mall brings people from all over the area for shopping and great deals. Be sure to stop in for great deals and designer brand names!

BYRON CENTER SCHOOLS

In the Byron Center community, there are a number of highly ranked schools to send children to. Byron Center Public Schools come highly recommended by parents of students who attend and an overall score based upon items like academics and test scores. As a part of the Bryon Center Public Schools district, Van Singel Fine Arts Center embraces the study of fine arts. This school was designed for students who are interested in furthering their knowledge of fine arts and seek to excel while doing so. The Van Singel stage is an area where students have the opportunity to showcase their love and knowledge for fine arts with performances to the public.

In addition to a great public school system in Byron Center, there are other private schools in the area that are highly ranked among parents and academics. Zion Christian School and Cross Creek Charter Academy are two of the most highly ranked private schools in the area.

Located just off the highway, the 84th Street Pub & Grille is a large sports bar with a great atmosphere. They have a great draft beer selection and an American style menu with a variety of options.
