Kent City

Located northwest of Grand Rapids, Kent City Public Schools are a unique type of school that embraces all types of ethnicities and different languages. Kent City Public Schools offer English learning courses and programs geared towards migrant education. There elementary, middle, and high school offer a wide variety of different electives for students to choose from like Spanish all the way to band or choir. This variety of elective gives the students who attend the opportunity to explore different kinds of programs that they might be interested in. In addition to a large number of electives, they offer a wide variety of athletic programs for students to participate in. 

Although Kent City is a smaller area outside of Grand Rapids, there are still some fun things to do in the area. Take a trip to Long Lake Park where you can do some fishing, launch your boat, swim at the beach, or play on the playground equipment. Just over 230-acres of green space dedicated to those who love being outdoors in the beautiful Michigan weather. Another area dedicated to nature and wildlife is the Rogue River State Game Park which has been around since 1951! This area features a variety of habitats and many different types of animals. For some inside enjoyment, stop by the Tyrone Township Branch which is part of the Kent District Library.
