Fitzgerald Residences

The Fitz

Originally constructed in 1915, the building was once the home of the YMCA in downtown Grand Rapids and has since been converted into the Fitzgerald Residence Condos. This classic revival building is located on Library Street in the heart of downtown and has seen some renovations over the course of its life that have restored it to its former glory. With a great location, there are other amenities this building provides for the residents who call it home.

One of the better features is the covered parking spaces that are deeded to each unit, ensuring that you will have a place to park in the busy downtown scene. The community area in the Fitzgerald is a welcoming area with a wood-paneled library and lounge that is available to all residents of the building. Other community areas include the outdoor deck with a hot tub and grilling area, perfect for entertaining outdoors. Make sure to take advantage of the fitness center and if you need additional storage, there are individual storage units.

There is no doubt that the location along with all the amenities offered by the Fitzgerald Residence Condos makes it a great place to call home. The location is one of the best amenities that a downtown condo can offer and this location leaves little to be desired. You can walk out the front doors of the building onto Library Street and directly across the street you will find the Veteran's Memorial Park. This park has been dedicated to World War II and Korean War veterans to show appreciation for their bravery in protecting our country.

You also step out the front doors of the Fitzgerald Residence and a few footsteps away you will find the Grand Rapids Public Library. After moving from the Grand Rapids City Hall in 1904, the Grand Rapids Public Library has called the Ryerson Building its permanent home. Another fantastic Grand Rapids landmark within walking distance of the condo building is the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre. Throughout the year, this theatre puts on a number of plays that bring people from all over the city. Make sure not to wait too long, these plays are only around for a limited time.

Another beautiful sight out your front door of the Fitzgerald Residence is the First Park Congregational Church. Established in 1839, this church was the first of three Protestant churches in the bustling town of Grand Rapids. In 1897, this beautiful building was constructed and still stands today on the corner of Library Street and Park Place.
